Danakil has remained at the top of the French reggae scene for over 20 years. After two sold-out shows at the Olympia in 2021, their next performance in Paris can only take place at the Zénith! In the meantime, they are fine-tuning many new releases to be revealed in 2024. As you already know, there's nothing better than experiencing them live to discover all this! The atmosphere at their concerts is always filled with camaraderie with their audience, reflecting the deep connection between the members of the “Danakil family” that has lasted all these years. The high quality of their shows has also contributed to their reputation, and this one at the Zénith promises to be unforgettable!
Starting from a teenage dream in a rehearsal room at the MJC, Danakil gradually found the right chemistry between each member’s inspirations and talents, blending the Jamaican roots of reggae with the French language. They met an audience drawn to their authenticity and humanity. They have kept these values at the heart of all their projects and have done everything to preserve them, first by self-producing their albums and later by creating their own label to maintain their freedom. Baco Music has grown and now supports many artists in all aspects of their careers: recording in its studio, album production, tours, promotion, and more.
Danakil’s evolution has led them to perform dozens of shows every year in France, including at major festivals (Francofolies, Solidays, Fête de l’Huma, Summerjam, Rototom Sunsplash, No Logo, Reggae Sun Ska...), in the most renowned venues, and during concerts advocating for causes they support (SOS Méditerranée, Solidays, Nuit Debout…). Together, they have traveled the world performing in the Caribbean, Canada, New Caledonia, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Réunion, Mauritius, and throughout Europe. They have released six albums, recorded numerous dub versions, several live performances, and collaborated on stage or in the studio with many renowned artists. They’ve even won a gold record and a platinum single for the classic "Marley"! Ultimately, it’s their unique imprint, stamped with independence and activism, that they have left on the French music scene, far beyond the reggae world.
