BIOGRAPHY
Singer-songwriter Carla de Coignac creates a world that straddles the line between folk and chanson, where every word is meant to strike a chord. She was born in Paris and grew up between Cahors and Toulon, in a family of music lovers. Writing became a refuge for her at a very early age: marked by the loss of her mother during her teenage years, she built an intimate artistic work, filled with themes of grief, love, and healing.
She first came to the public’s attention through her participation in Nouvelle Star, but initially chose to stay in the background by writing for others, including Louane and Mika. It was on social media that she then established her unique identity, with a concept of rewriting songs, followed by hundreds of thousands of people. Her moving French version of Another Love became the track Peur de l’amour, racking up over 3 million streams and millions of views. In 2025, she released her first EP, Confession, the musical extension of a deeply personal writing process. Several tracks were featured on the TV show Star Academy, confirming her growing popularity with the public. Both on stage and in her lyrics, Carla de Coignac explores the contradictions of the heart with raw honesty: loving, doubting, falling apart, and picking herself back up. Her raw, unfiltered writing is carried by a voice that turns fragility into strength.
