BIOGRAPHY

Queen Omega, real name Jeneile Osborne, was born in San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago, a Caribbean island north of Venezuela. Encouraged by her mother, Queen started performing in talent shows at the age of 9, writing her own Calypso sounds, and rapping on national television networks.

A few years later, she sang in backing vocals for a local producer named Kenny Phillips, which enabled her to accompany many of Trinidad's top Soca artists on stage and in the studio. Raised in a family of music lovers and musicians, she grew up listening to soul artists like Aretha Franklin, Anita Baker and Whitney Houston, but also jazz and traditional music from her native island. Foundations which have a primordial influence in her future career as a singer, even if while growing up her favorite styles become the reggae and dancehall. After her encounter with the Rastafari religion, and the teachings of Emperor Haile Selassie I, her talent as a songwriter shifted towards more realistic themes about the modern world and her origins as an African descendant. In the late 2000s, during a trip to Jamaica during her performance with the group Solomon at the Caribbean Music Expo festival, she met producer Mickey D. The latter would invite her to London years later in order to do studio and live sessions. From this trip will be born his first album 'QUEEN OMEGA'. It will be followed by several hits, and another album called 'PURE LOVE'. In early 2004, her album 'AWAY FROM BABYLON', Queen Omega's third and most accomplished album, was released by Jet Star. At this time she still resides with the Green House family of Mickey D. With her three albums, and several very fine live performances, Queen Omega opens the door to female roots reggae artists. She continues her career by releasing a large number of sounds. With the musical accompaniment of very talented French producers Bost & Bim & Special Delivery Music, the quality of his vocal power becomes obvious and above all essential. She mixes both singing and toasting in a deejay style that she masters brilliantly. At the same time, she once again shows her devastating ability to write songs that go straight to the point, carrying conscious messages. Queen Omega is well on her way to a promising career as a roots reggae artist like no other woman in the business before her. Some of his most exceptional titles that have marked the generations are "Selassie I Know", "Love Each Other", "Me Beg Yu", "Keep The Faith", "No Retire", his collaboration with Buju Banton: "Perfect Combination", and the title "Destiny". Her distinct voice, conscious lyrics and great instrumentals - fresh and original as well as inspirational covers - make Queen Omega's albums real assets to add to your collection. Between 2008 and 2012, Queen Omega continued her work on the front of the stage and performed in several reggae festivals, notably in North America at the Northwest World Music Festival (OR), in Brazil and in France. It was in 2012 that Queen Omega released her album produced by High Fly Music, accompanied by a tour in France, in Germany and Reunion to defend this opus. That same year, Queen received the well-deserved Merlin Lynn Taitt Award, in the Music category. Since then, she has walked the stage of major renowned festivals of the genre such as Reggae Rising (USA), SNWMF (USA), Garance Festival (FR), Reggae Jam (DE), African Music Festival (DE) or the Sao Paulo Reggae Fest (BR). After releasing her EP 'STARS ALIGN' in 2021 with Afro, contemporary dancehall sounds, including a featuring with the planetary Afrobeat artist Stonebwoy from Ghana, Queen returns to Europe in 2022 for a tour in the most beautiful festivals of the summer: Paléo Music, Reggae Jam (DE & UK), No Logo (FR), Overjam (SL), Reggaeboa (ES)... A tour that will begin in early July, and will be marked by the release of the first single “Fittest” on July 8, from his new album produced by Lionsflow Productions and which will be released on Baco Records. An opus awaited by its fans for more than 10 years, with lots of surprises and in particular incredible and unexpected collaborations with pearls from the environment. The ambassador of reggae from Trinidad returns with great force in her favorite style of reggae, dancehall! Oscillating between songs with exquisite harmonies, and toasting in deejay style mode!
