A living legend of roots reggae, Clinton Fearon is hitting the road again in 2027 for a historic tour dedicated to The Gladiators' repertoire! For eighteen years, Clinton Fearon was the iconic bassist, singer, and lyricist of this legendary band. Today, he is set to revisit on stage the greatest classics he co-wrote himself—songs that shaped the history of this music.
Get ready to sing along to legendary hits like “Chatty Chatty Mouth”, “Richman Poorman”, “On The Other Side”, “Looks Is Deceiving”, “Stick A Bush” and “Jah Works”! To restore these masterpieces to their full power, Clinton Fearon’s usual lineup is reinventing itself and the group is welcoming a brass and percussion section, as well as exceptional backup singers. This expanded orchestration will bring back to life the vocal harmonies characteristic from the original Gladiators' trio, a signature sound Clinton Fearon was already arranging back in the days. The amazing musicians of The Riddim Source, who have been performing with Clinton Fearon on his European tours in recent years, and with whom he recorded his latest albums in France, will of course continue to be part of the adventure. Beyond his career with the Gladiators, Clinton Fearon worked as a session musician for various studios in Jamaica, notably with producers Coxsone Dodd at Studio One and Lee “Scratch” Perry at Black Ark, as well as at Channel One, Aquarius, Harry J, Randy’s, and others. In these studios, this reggae legend composed timeless bass lines for well-known artists such as Yabby You, Jimmy Riley, Max Romeo, Junior Byles… After leaving Jamaica for the U.S., he continued to make his mark on the reggae world through his solo projects and collaborations with various backing bands. In total, he has recorded fifteen albums under his own name and tours the world with this impressive repertoire. He performs at major festivals on every continent, including regular appearances in the United States, in Canada, in Europe, in Brazil, in Africa, and occasionally in other countries (Peru, Honduras, New Caledonia, Hong Kong, etc.). He also collaborates with numerous artists such as Alpha Blondy, Mike Love, Rising Tide, Naya Rockers, Havana meets Kingston, The Movement, Manjul, The Emeterians... Every song by Clinton Fearon is a powerful message straight from the heart of a man who has dedicated his life to making the world a better place in his own small way. His songs, though often political, are nonetheless deeply heartfelt, driven by a faith in humanity and love that seems unshakable. With his relentless bass lines, finely crafted music, and poetry, he opens reggae up to a wider audience that simply loves his beautiful songs.
